About MendED Nutrition

Nice to meet you! My name is Robert Mendiola and I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) practicing in Georgetown, Texas and the surrounding Austin area.

My career started, nearly a decade ago, in a hospital in South Texas as a clinical dietitian. There, I helped patients at all stages of life, and their families, learn more about nutritional needs. I began to witness and truly understand the connection between mental health and nutrition - a connection that can greatly improve our mental and physical states, yet often gets overlooked. My experience ranges from seeing individuals in the clinical setting of a hospital and small clinic, to providing small group nutrition counseling. I’ve worked to help people manage their chronic health issues, improve mental health outcomes, and build better relationships with food. Maximizing your health does not have to be frustrating and, more importantly, is not something you have to achieve on your own.

MEND NUTRITION IS DEDICATED
TO BUILDING REAL HEALTH AND REAL CONFIDENCE IN REAL PEOPLE.

What we know:

There is an overabundance of nutrition information, yet health issues are at an all-time high. The issue is not a lack of knowledge, but knowing how to apply it.

The normal stresses of life and our environment affect our bodies and minds - This is compounded by diets that are nutrient-poor or that promote inflammation.

Health needs to be defined individually, what works for some may not work for others. Health should not be determined by the culture or society we belong to.

Every person deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, honesty and acceptance.

What we do:

Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling through a non-judgmental approach.

Help build people’s confidence in themselves when making decisions regarding food and fitness.

Collaboratively develop actionable plans for managing chronic diseases and pursuing goals that matter to you.
